      Hi there

My name is Fiona. I work with a production company called IWC Media in the UK specialising in intelligent and thoughtful documentaries. Programmes we have made include Terry Pratchett: Living with Alzheimer’s and The Secret Life of a Manic Depressive with Stephen Fry, as well as blue chip science programmes such as Brave New World and Stephen Hawking – Master of the Universe.

I am currently doing some background research into drug taking amongst older people for a potential documentary and I would very much like to speak to drug users in the 50+ age group. We are mainly looking to talk to recreational drug users and focus on safe use of drugs and positive impact some drug taking can have.

I would like to stress I am simply at the very early stages of research and there is absolutely no filming involved at this point– or indeed at any point without having someone’s full permission to film them. Confidentiality is also something I take very seriously and we are not a company who make voyeuristic programmes.

I’ve tried to use the ‘contact us’ form at the bottom of the page but the email address bounced back unfortunately. It would be great to talk to someone to get advice on whether or not you will allow me to post details of my reserach on the site – or if you can suggest people who might be willing to talk to me.

Hope to hear from you soon.

      Fiona

This is a public forum so if users are interested then they will reply to your threads/contact you them selves. It’s fine to ask for people to participate and post details if it’s genuine, but the mods can’t make people reply to you I’m afraid.

Users here generally view the whole site, so there’s no need to make multiple threads about the same thing, a “bump” on the original thread should suffice.

A lot of the older members on here have other responsibilities in life like kids, managerial job rolls etc. so may not post as often as some of the younger guys and gals.
