Sounds like some weird mutant dubstep infusion.
At first I thought it was some sort of sick joke you were playing and it was really a dubstep mix..

Naaah, I don’t joke around with things as serious as dubstep. It has that kinda ripping bassline you get in allot of that fidget house etc. It’s ok but it’s designed more for energy spending rather than tripping out to music, but it still has trippy elements. I could easy take some acid and dance about to it but it would get a bit much as I said before.

I would call that goa trance , i enjoy that personally more than psy because there is buildups and build downs where as most psytrance is just one level for the whole tune

                I dunno.. this is Goa to me;

I find Goa to be really euphoric most of the time but extremely psychedellic but also featuring the buildups. A lot of it sounds more ‘organic’ then generic psy aswell I think, it doesn’t sound as machiney..

could well be goa. Lots of dance music is so faffing hard to define and put in a genre. The amount of times I have had debates over genres of music people gawd. “If I had a penny eh.

I even had a genre debate with a copper once at a free party. I was like “IT’S ACID TECHNO” I even gave him a low blow and said “well you wouldn’t know really, you haven’t even taken acid have you” I know that wouldn’t have ment anything but it still won the argument for me. He just said “no I have not” and people were all like Dave what the fuck are you doing.

I have a pic of him too.

Why are there so many pictures of coppers at raves? Are they obliged to have their pictures taken or something?

If they are in uniform and they are not being harrassed then these days they tend not to complain about it. There’s also loads of coppers on facebook posting with their real names and even pics of their kids and families.

After all if anyone does stalk them or anything they can claim harrasment and the stalkers will get surveillance put on them and arrested. I’ve also noticed an increasing tendency for officials to have the balls to stand their ground these days on social media and say “we are simply doing our job as society expects us to and have a right to give our opinions as well”, and they will often try and show they have a human side.

A good example of that was Bé Muller from the Netherlands Telecom Agency who used to track down and close pirate radio stations – He never stopped others filming him and would even explain to them how he tracked down the pirate station and how the equipment in his peilwagen (radio surveillance vehicle) worked, and show that they sometimes caused interference.

And when he retired from the Telecom Agency he started to upload films of him playing banjo! (to be fair he is quite musical). I’ve seen his linkedin and he puts it down as one of skills (along with knowing 3 languages) that he can deal with the public in difficult and confrontational situtations which is fair enough, and also other less harsh things he’s done like help ensure a big music concert in Groningen had all the correct radio microphones and walkie talkies for the stewards and they did not interefere with each other.

i suppose theres lots of different types and as loggy said it can be so hard to define music sometimes.
Iagree with you that goa sounds more ‘organic’ like.

i think they get high off the fumes hahaha nah, coppers always let me take pics with them for some reason, just depends if they feel safe in the environment then they’re pretty laid-back.

Yeah I think goa has more acidy synths aswell.. might not be the case for all of it but certainly with what i’ve listened to and pretty much all of that album. *Reminisces about the cd and all the lines he’s racked up on it*
Tbf I don’t think theres a need to knit pick genres either really, who cares as long as it sounds good and you can have a stomp or skank to it raaa

This 100% isn’t Goa trance. It isn’t hard psytrance either, let alone very hard psytrance, unless by ‘hard’ you mean of the cheesy hard house ilk, which it is indeed pretty close to. I’d say this was typical cheesy full on psy with some twilight/South African-style psy thrown in for ‘good’ measure. 😛 The ravey side of psytrance. As you said, it isn’t really psytrance to take acid to. This is total pill-head ‘psy’trance. ;P

Escape from Samsara are a very committed crew (must admit, liked them a lot). As I recall they do insist on Bhuddist chimes and incense prior to start up. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but they were not breadheads when I was rubbing shoulders with ’em.
