i dont know allot bout speakers but can get help to setup if its going to be worth it . i also plan to learn a wee bit on the way . its mostly just for something to do and if it turns out well then happy times . thanks people

dont know much about the cab but the driver will be usable… just need to make a new box that is the same volume (not necessarily same shape) as the old one… with the same ports etc.

note: use leisure batteries, not car ones.

you can pick up some bargain car amps on ebay that will do the trick.
you might want a little cheap active crossover too as sub takes a lot of juice so make it quieter

chears man ,, what sort of price range would you say for a decent lesuire battery ? i know its probly impossible to say without me providing accurate ratings , but from your experiance do the lesuire batterys run a 12v rig for a while ? if not i have access to a small gennie . would rather not use it as its a bit more hassle , then again just dont wanna get half way through a little outdoor sesh n have the tunes cut out lol

thanks bud , thats the one .

anyone recommend any particular brand/type ? dont want to jump in and buy a piece of crap battery which may not last as long .i dont mind paying extra for some quality.

i will have a scan of speakerplans to see what i can learn from there ,man do some of the people on er know their techy stuff aswell . like another language at times :hopeless:

well the capacity of it determines how long its gunna go for (and obviously how intensive u r running it)… the capacity is measured in AH. (amp hours i think). There is scientific shit to like calculate how long u can run for but… i reckon an 85-100ah leisure battery should do you for about 4-6 hours with about 300watts of power? the

new speakerplans 12v area is very good and theres some right genius’s on there. 🙂

SEALED LEISURE BATTERY 85AH WAS £98.99 NOW £46.50 on eBay (end time 30-Jul-10 13:24:14 BST)

this sort of thang do you fine. old golf caddy batteries / biddie mobile batteries will do the trick if you get em cheap. not a problem for moi tho as i can get these 100ah batteries on family discount raaa. as far as brands go, there aint that much difference, a batteries a battery as far as i know. obv some are known to be more reliable than others, but its not like the difference between void and skytec.
