Modern combis heat up to a certain temperature (usually 20 secs or so) then when its reached they self-regulate so the water coming out is the exact temp u want. This means it doesnt run flat out and soon as the temp is reached, uses v little gas to maintain it when the water is flowing.

ouch, i overlooked the other side of things… got one of them energy monitors and current electric use in oct nov and dec has averaged 1MWh/month (just over) – the fookin heating in the music studio is all electric aargh!

im allowing 14 pence a unit in my calculations for leccy bills! bout 140 quid a month sheesh, looks like i gonna have to get one of my gennies, enclose it, run it on all the used vegoil i have :crazy_diz

man if they werent so noisy i’d do it!

Spose i could cheat, get a dual rate leccy meter (one that lets u have cheap leccy at night) use the cheap leccy to charge up loadsa 12v batteries, run thru inverters during the day, now theres an idea!
