      Robbie has shared a few of his mixes with us already, but I think its worth also linking his page and the radiostation he broadcasts on…

      (Page is in a mixture of Dutch (or Flemish) and English, but should be easy enough to get to the player.

      128 K but still good audio quality (TBH if they are simulcasting to Band II the audio will already be filtered of at 15kHZ (its the maximum allowed) so there isn’t much loss in using 128K and the audio can share the same processing kit (there is always a hard limiter and often a compressor in a legal station as the communications ministry insist on these to prevent interference. but thankfully the engineers have not trashed the dynamic range which can unfortunately happen with some stations).

      Jingles and presumably some of the presenters who talk are in English (not heard a presenter yet so not 100% sure)

      Fair play to BIPT also (Belgian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications) as they have let them have about 5 band II frequencies in a small country for a specialist music station, if you try that here Ofcom say “there arent enough spare slots / it will interfere with planes” but if BE can do it and NL also why not UK?

        heres a really strange and surreal thing what just happened – they are on robot DJ and auto ads / carts playout which is fair enough. (The ads are in Dutch)

        They just did a 19:00 CET time check in English, also understandable – but (assuming the master clock is spot on whatever BE’s national time standard is, and usually having an accurate one is a condition of getting a broadcast license), I heard the timecheck ahead by a minute or more of the actual time yet the stream is online and normally its lagged due to encoding delay, and CET and BST shouldn’t be adrift that far..

        So between BE and UK, time is going backwards :laugh_at:

        An OM on an electronics list said this can happen with digital audio going through the telecoms network and cause confusion, but its the first time I’ve experienced it and didn’t expect it on domestic broadband…
