where? at a rave, or just for traffic control? If its just on the street I expect they are looking for drink/drug drivers (or dealing with the inevitable arguments/domestics) and you have to be driving badly or doing something really bait or already be on ANPR for this to happen. that said a mate of mine has some of the most distinctive vehicles and dreads but he drives well so never gets stopped..
if you saw then on foot they were most likely keeping on patrol for domestics and other fights. Can’t say I blame them, as some folk use new year to settle scores.
