Hi all! I’m a dj from the Nevada/California scene in USA. I’m a full time Phil. student here in Reno and I was looking into the rave scene in Netherlands because I’m thinking of doing an overseas study there and I came across your site.

I must say, I’m impressed by the fact that many of you are much older than most of the ravers in our local scene. We’re dominated by 15 – 17 year old…it makes going to parties feel a little awkward at times. Are the parties there mixed a little better, age wise? And does anyone know about the scene in Holland? What’s it take to play a club or a rave there? Here, it’s a real good ol’ boys club – you have to know the right people or start your own party and get a lot of attention…It took me almost five years gigging before I ever got paid, too…

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully meeting some of you someday at a party on the other side of the pond!

      Peace

Thanks for the greetings, guys. Hey, Process – is that track in your avatar produced by you or someone else? It’s brilliant!

I don’t know if you’re interested, but I thought I’d post a picture of the area I live in. It’s hot as hell here right now, but in the winter it’s heaven…

I’d love to go the UK to study. The only reason I’m thinking about going to The Hague is that it looks a lot better on a resume or scholarship application to have done an overseas study in a non-English speaking country (it doesn’t hurt that herb is legal there, too). Shows an adventurous nature or something…Everything I’ve ever heard about the UK is rad, though…birthplace of techno, killer parties, hooligans in expensive athletic sweaters, tons of history….It sounds like it’s off the hook.

Gotta keep the resume in mind, though. I’m applying for grad schools soon.

And now I’m off to the bar! I’ll drink a pint to you guys. Peace out

I’ll see if I can dig up a summertime picture, too. It’s desolate – at times it’s almost shocking how desolate it can be. The spot where Burning Man is held, for instance, is about an hour and a half from here and during the event it’s easy to ignore the natural surroundings but if you go out there any other time of year it’s a real mind blower. It’s so flat, you can almost see the curvature of the Earth and there is NO vegetation. Nothing lives there, nothing grows there. There aren’t even any bugs. It’s crazy.

The rest of the are is more like the picture above. It really is beautiful here; you just have to look at it with the right eyes.
