Life was so much better when there weren’t so many choices and distractions. I loved my little transistor radio. Played great music and I couldn’t wait to hear what would be on next. Different DJs with different styles. Reading a great book with the radio in the background. More is not better.

There’s a good TED talk about how more choice is not always a good thing. The typical example is when you have more to choose from the less satisfied you are with your choice. Applies to everything from food to clothes to cars to laptops etc.

When there’s so many things to choose from you can’t help but think ‘I wonder if this other one was better…’ whereas if there’s only two things, and you know the difference, it’s a lot easier to make a choice and be satisfied with that choice.

That company called Apple know all about this, that’s why they have a limited product range, so their customer’s aren’t confused and generally satisfied with their choice at the time.

And yes… who doesn’t love a bit of pirate radio; playing music the people want.

Either fit better sights to your weapon or use a shotgun to make sure it’s in the kill zone.

Or use a Ghetto Blaster – those ones which take 30 D cell batteries. Much better chance of hitting.
