I love the Royal Family tbh, they embody a feeling of patriotism that the whole country can get behind and I think the Queen (especially) has done a fantastic job over the years. Let’s not forget, At first she wasn’t even in line to inherit the Throne, her uncle was the King but then had to abdicate which gave her dad the title. I doubt anyone would want the job as it means your life is basically forfeit. You have to put the crown on and represent the country at all times. You can’t live your life the way you want to and I doubt you’d get a minute to yourself. The Jubilee was a chance for all of us to celebrate being British and I’m happy it turned out so well.
People call them German as well which fucks me off, True they have German origins but who doesn’t have foreign roots these days, I have Irish blood in me but consider myself English. People moan about our taxpayers cash going on em but think about recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (and more recently Libya) combined I bet this is an obscene amount of money so I’d rather it went on our national symbol than on another war.
The monarchy is good for the UK and I hope they carry on as they have for a long long time so my (future Kids) can get behind them too! If you saw how many people were out celebrating the Jubilee you’ll see that the majority is in favour of them. Also Kate Middleton is one fit bird and if she becomes a Queen then I won’t feel so bad about cracking one out over a bank note.
Oh and also if anyone tells me the queen is a lizard I will laugh at you lol!
