                    Socialise: Sat 17.04.10

A wise old man who told me quite sagely that another wise man once said “Go to be late at night with itchy bum, wake up with smelly finger” . . . Now if you can take that get something out of it, all the better for you, in the meantime you might want to look to the skies and check the airwaves once again this Saturday 17.04.10 on House 88.6FM on SOCIALISE, 4pm-6pm GMT.

We have special guest Arris Da Kat joining us in the studio once again as we had so much fun last time and possibly Stitch as well since it’s his birthday, keep you posted on that one though.

Just how dense is Simon ‘The Boy of Density’ Page? Discuss.

For a homogeneous object, the mass divided by the volume gives the density. Knowing that Simon’s mass shall we say is on the lighter side of bulimic teenage girl, and his volume is, well, stuck on 11 shall we say, we can come to a definitive answer. Where the density of a substance and either mass or volume is known, volume or mass, respectively, can be calculated using either simple algebra or dimensional analysis. The density must be translated as a conversion factor, in Simon Page’s case the number is 88.6 which strangely is where he can be found between the hours of 4pm and 6pm this Saturday 24th April on House 88.6 FM alongside a uniquely inanimate object simply know as Roberto Stringy Pants who, as fortune would have it, is exactly one half of the Socialise trio. The show can also be streamed live here: HouseFM.NET – Welcome

Ok, here at Socialise we know you all like house music, I mean we REALLY know you all like house music, but have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight? Well, not much chance of that between 4pm and 6pm on a Saturday afternoon, but just remember . . . When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck and bangs the back of your favourite head up against the bar room wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if you’ve paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye and you remember what old’ Jack Burton always says at a time like that; “Have ya’ paid your dues, Jack? Yes sir, I’m going to listen to Socialise this Saturday 01 May between 4pm-6pm on House 88.6FM. And if I can’t pick it up on the FM dial I’ll be streaming it at HouseFM.NET – Welcome

DJ Simon Page: In medieval times, a page was an attendant to a knight; an apprentice squire. A young boy served as a page for seven years, serving, cleaning, and even learning the basics of combat, and the lord he was working for would usually treat him fairly. The lord sometimes gave the page private combat training from the age of seven until he was fourteen. At age fourteen, he could graduate to become a squire, and by age 21, perhaps a knight himself. Strangely enough this was very similar to how a young Simon Page learnt to become a DJ. Simon served as a record bag carrier for much of his young life, cleaning, serving, and learning how to handle vinyl, the DJ who owned him treated him fairly. By the age of 14 he graduated to become a junior DJ, sitting on his master’s knee, sometimes being allowed to place actual records on the turntable. By the age of 21 he was ready to go it alone and become a DJ in his own right, ten years on and he’s almost got it. Hear the results of the years of grooming on Socialise, this Saturday 15th May, 4pm-6pm on House 88.6FM, you can stream the show live at http://www.housefm.net
