I haven’t really listened to any in a while, so I’m not too sure what it’s like these days, BUT if it’s like it was then I think it’s great in short bursts and really fucking annoying beyond about 30-45 minutes. I did do a couple of mixes of early hardstyle mixed with hard trance back in about 2003 if you’re interested?

yeah it’s good kit but that was a pretty basic mix of the two tracks. i’m sure you could probably have a stab at doing something equally as good if not better with your decks providing you take care with the beatmatching and timing.

yeah same with most styles for me. it gets boring after a while. thats why I like the decks so much as can take the music in whatever direction I feel is right.
as for new vs old i’d say old wins hands down personally. the sound changed after around 2007/2008, most of the big names seem to make commercial cheesy stuff only these days.
although there are always handfull of artists, (about 5 or so) who never fail to saturate my brain receptors of banging sound enjoyment intake, whenever I play them.

Good producers like showtek have been ruined by the influence of commercial bullshit and money imo. artists like technoboy and headhunterz new songs are just as bad these days. I find it empty and boring. Even the hard dark good sounding at first stuff.
If anyone would like any pointers to what I would say is good hardstyle or fancy some really hard music for the mind, (which you wont have heard unless you are in the know) Dont hesitate to mail me

generally find hardstyle to br lacking in the hard party, if im on a mad one i go for the hardtek, bods like narktek guigoo so on so forth.

The red mushroom is good.
Also like Zany, Pavo and Duro tracks but VERY occasionally i can bear them.

January 23, 2011 at 10:17 am #1232308The really old proto-hardstyle (pre-2000 Tracid Traxx like Hennes & Cold – Second Trip Scott Project Remix) I’m a fan of.. however the new style is abrasive, noisy and a bit simplistic for my liking! Just an opinion of course 😛
I like a bit more groove, not just noisy marching music..

Yeah man.. some of the stuff the Producer’s bringing out at the moment is mind-blowing; seriously chopped-up breaky ‘ardcore!
