What up yall!
Jeff Hunter here to present you with a copy of my set from Blueshift! This set features the vocal accompaniment of MC Hyde who also hails from the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Please download this set when you’ve got a few minutes and give it a listen! Let me know what you think of it!
Blueshift was a festival style camp out music party which was reminiscent of the classic Midwest outdoor parties of the Further series. Blueshift was even held at one of the outdoor camping venues that the Further Festival was at in central Wisconsin. The event went from Friday the 6th of August to Sunday the 8th of August and featured hundreds of dj’s from around the U.S.A. The most notable headliners included dj Spree, Skylab 2000, Dan Efex, Paul Anthony, Alex Peace and Bam Bam, Josh “The Funky 1”, and Submerge 101. There were also some 200 other dj’s from the surrounding states who were there representing their respective crews. There was a lot going on during this three day event with lots of memorable things going down. Most notably was the 7:00 am Saturday wakeup call of a wikked nasty hardcore track being played on the largest local crew sound system. It was like an alarm clock except that it shook you out of bed! Good times indeed!
Here is a direct link to the mix on my website >>> Jeff Hunter with MC Hyde – Live @ Blueshift 080704

October 4, 2004 at 4:27 pm #1062860I’ll download when I get a chance Jeff. Looks like some nice stuff on there mate I’ve got most of them but it will be good to listen to with an MC over the top. I usually dislike MC’s but i’m hoping this guy is going to prove otherwise.

Thanks for your interest! The MC is decent. His most important attribute is that he doesn’t yack over every last track which really gets me pissed. I hope that you enjoy the mix! Peace.

October 12, 2004 at 7:09 pm #1062862Quality mixing, same as the last!
Like I say, most of the tunes I have so nothing new but obviously it was to my taste music wise.
Didn’t like the MC. But then I never really do, so that’s no reflection on his skill. I made sure I listened with an open mind and I was willing to be impressed. But I found whenever he started talking I wanted him to stop so I could hear the music better.
All in all though it was enjoyable. Nice one Jeff.

Thanks man! I’m glad that you liked the mix. 😉
I’m generally not a huge fan of MC’s because most of them suck. I would love to work with a really talented MC. One that will tell a story and work with the flow and production of the tracks. Hyde is ok but he’s pretty much just about hyping up the dj, the crowd, the party, and the promoters. Doesn’t tell a story at all.
Thanks for listening! Peace.
October 25, 2004 at 10:33 pm #1062863Hey Jeff,
Just did my own mix about an hour a go. It’s not my best but i really can’t be arsed to try again as I find recording while mixing takes all the fun and flair out of it.
I must try and record a party set of mine. I find that’s when i’m at my best when I have an audience to vibe off.
Hope you enjoy
