This sounds a bit of an odd one but I’ve been noticing the basic problem for a while. This is that a thread like http://www.partyvibe.com/forums/heroin-opium/53549-how-trifle-can-turn-into.html
will only show me posts (in this case) #11 onwards. i have the messages per thread set to 40 in my settings. on some threads like this one, #1 to #10 appear briefly during download but are removed once the page is finally displayed.

I thought it might be my browser but I have just reproduced this on that thread as follows:
Konqueror 4.91 with both khtml and webkit
      Rekonq 0.9.2 with webkit
      Firefox 15.0.1
      Opera 12.02

Non logged in Firefox and Opera see messages #1 to #15 by default OK. I do run noscript but PV is naturally allowed :)).

Further experiment shows that this bug affects all threads where the last page has more than 20 articles. That is, with my page size being 50, when a thread has between 21 and 50 articles I will only see the last 20 and postings 1 to n-20 will hide themselves. When a thread has between 50 and 70 I will see them all (on two pages), but when it has between 70 and 100 then postings 51 to (n-20) will be missing from the second page. And so on.

Sorry for the delay. I’m not seeing a problem. Can you try your account from another computer?

                evening dr. b,
sorry didn’t mean to hassle you, i was updating following some interesting experiments trying to work it out 🙂

this is the same on two computers, one 32-bit Debian Stable and one 64-bit Debian Testing. The stable one’s khtml is a bit ancient but the same happens on up-to-date khtml and all modern browser/engine combinations I try too. I can try it in Win7 at some point but that’s dual boot with this one 🙂

A mod is malfunctioning but getting it fixed is unlikely so I’ve applied a workaround and this is fixed now. 🙂
