      Took our system (or was going to) Out last night and found one of the mid/ tops not working.Pulled it to bits and found all wiring to be sound.

      Symptoms are:-the speaker has 2 x 15″ eminence drivers and a tweeter.the bottom 15″ wired straight from the speakon connector is working but the one above and the tweeter dont 🙁

      I have put a signal through both offending units directly and they are working fine.There IS a crossover inside which is fused,i have tried the fuse from the other cabinet (which works fine) with no joy.
      Do you think i am right in assuming the crossover has gone to electrical hell (no way its going to electrical heaven given the amount it has pissed me off)

      or is there something else that could be the matter.

      I want my system back:cry::cry::cry::cry:

        You say the first (working) driver is wired straight from the speakon patch. How are the others wired from that? Have you linked them from the + – of the bottom 15?

        How is the crossover featured in if the chain if the signal comes straight from the speakon panel then to the first driver?

          got 2 wires from speakon to first driver then 2 wires from first driver to srossover-2 wires from crossover to second driver and a sheathed cable from crossover to tweeter-if that makes sense

            Do you use an active crossover? If you don’t then it seems a bit of an odd configuration as the first driver will be getting a full range signal before going in to the crossover.

            Anyway. Everything points to the crossover at the moment (as you say they all work if you feed them a direct signal. Maybe one of the capacitors or inductors have died.

              Thanks Bio,have hoiked out the crossover and passed it on to a mate in the hope he can fix it,whilst meanwhile im trying to chase up a replacement.Winding up with a spare has got to be a good thing:groucho:

              I am indeed using an active crossover Alto X 23 somthing or another:weee:
