May 24, 2012 at 12:06 am #1253645Hard one as i also rated Pulp and Blur too…..
May 24, 2012 at 12:12 am #1253627Certainly is!!
I chose Supergrass just as I really liked their first album. Though I probably like more songs of other artists.
May 24, 2012 at 12:19 am #1253628Pulp – Babies
Pulp – Common PeopleSupergrass – Alright
Supergrass – Mansized RoosterOasis – She’s Electric
Oasis – SupersonicBlur – Coffee And TV
Blur – Country Sad Ballad ManMy favourite tunes by the artists.
May 24, 2012 at 12:27 am #1253619never was much of a fan of britpop though chose Blur were slightly less likely to act like complete twats to the media whilst cosying up to politicians as Oasis did, plus the local connections (they were not formed at Uni in London as many sources say but at Colchester, only about 25 miles from here).
Also sheer randomness and eccentricity, including one dude refusing to be in the video unless he could dress up as a traditional English milkman, and using both a banjo and a mellotron on one track (this being a really obscure electronic keyboard based instrument invented in Birmingham as old as most of the band members (most of whom are a few years my senior) which used large loops of magnetic tape and was notroriously flaky.
May 24, 2012 at 7:00 am #1253647Hmmm… they’re all good. Supergrass I reckoned were the best all around. Only music that gets to me listening to it are Country & Western… it’s a valid art form but it generally leaves me cold (with a few exceptions).
Mind you, I reckon N-Dubz probably better live entertainers though… 😉
May 24, 2012 at 10:01 am #1253620I didn’t really like britpop but my sister loved it. I remember I didn’t mind blur back then (1994) but I also like a few pulp tunes too. I remember cos my Mum works at Brighton, although back the she was at sussex Uni. She use to be ble to get us guestlist tickets fr the brighton ventre for virtually anything. She got me and My older sister tickets for pulp, but the day before the gig, he was involved in that paparatzi assault and the gig was cancelled. at least I think thats why it was cancelled.
