There are hardly any free parties it seems these days, i’m in Reading Berkshire, if there are any guitarists, singers, bassists, Drummers, Dj’s, Samplers, whoever that fancy making a free party scene mixed with live music then it would be a wicked scene to get into.
If your sick of the pub circuits and boring audiences then lets get some free party bands going. Think: the live stage at homelands at 3:00am when everyone is off the box usually listening to Dj’s a live group would be so awesome.June 18, 2004 at 8:01 pm #1061813Dude its a wicked idea ,ive been trying to do the same in bristol .wanted to form a sort of stoner experimental hardcore band with synth breaks and techno beats as well as using live drummer.wanted to do the free parties and benafit circit . at the moment i just lack the rest of the band.
June 21, 2004 at 3:31 pm #1061814yeah it’s a wicked thing to do. What are the chances of organising a free Jam in Bristol in a warehouse or something. Get some synths, guitars, definately some live bass guitars and some mics. Got any samples of your stuff or anything on tape.

Do you know any shit hot drummers?

I play just about any kind of music there is apart from garage. We have been talking about getting together to do some live stuff at parties. We’re based in the East Midlands but are very interested.

i have a tekno/dnb/breakcore rig in london,STONKA, and im an ex pro drummer(!!!!!!)im gettin vdrums in autumn and up for forming sum live shit.i used to do this many years ago in a live techno band named TRIBAL ENERGY,electronic percussion playin alongside a 909.the band woz ruined by an egomaniac who didnt hav a clue how to run th band live.we played the rocket regularly and also brixton fridge and the forum once.this woz 94-95.anyway,i hav at the moment,m8ys who hav the DEADSILENCE BAND ,u must check them out.they are awesome kinda drum n bass live and are gonna be big…believe! i will be sortn my live stuff out in the autumn.vdrums,sampler and 2k monitor..ihav 9k rig as well.im frenchtek,hardcore,breakcore,dnb..name is brad..get in touch ..varvod@yahoo.co.uk….good lukkJuly 6, 2004 at 1:12 pm #1061827great stuff. I’m organising parties in Devon and always try to include a couple of live bands…the collectiv; live D&B/dub-roll and The Tourettes; mad street poetry/ska/punk.
I feel that the party-goers come from much more diverse musical backgrounds than just dance music, and that should be represented by the parties. After all, historically, the rave scene was a conglomeration of hippies, druids and people from the club scene.

July 7, 2004 at 9:52 am #1061820I’m usually in Devon August or late July. where are the free parties held? any near Saunton or croyde that area? i don’t know how you organise or rig up the areas for a party but if you name a date then we can advertiase a thread on this site for jamming tent/set, there are loads of bassists, drummers, guiatrists around on a Berkshire music live site, if theres a chance of something hapenning then i reckon quite a few people will be up for it.

We have been playing Skunkrock at festy’s squats and free parties for about the last three years, with such memorably muntered performances at ‘Davstock’ Smeatharpe Airfield’ and ‘Leominster U.K. Tec’ to name but a few. We are based in Birmingham and you can contact the band at http://www.crackedactors.com we also do payin gigs to allow us to play free gigs so if anyone has a venue and a crowd for a fusion of Ska Punk Reggae called Skunkrock get in touch.
