Just letting you all know the remit of this section has now been expanded; feel free to use this to discuss anything relating to the creative aspects of free parties.
As well music (DJ’ing, obtaining it or producing it) how about stuff like décor and backdrops, other performance art, lighting, installations, graf art (preferably decent pieces thhough and not just tags) – lets use this to encourage the spread of good ideas and artistic collaborations…
On an arty note: It would be wicked to see some more video jockeys at free parties. We had a random guy ask if he could do some projections for us once and it was wicked. Wish there was some more projections and stuff to lose yourself in.
Also. Does anyone know the best place to pick up uv glow wool. Is it just normal fluro type wool found in standard shops? Or is there some special stuff? You can do some really good effects with it if you spend a little time and effort at the party.
I guess though its the same stuff as in any wool shop; you could always bring in a hand-held UV tube in or try and convince the shop assistant to put the wool under the UV false banknote detector and see if it glows (they may think you are quite mad, but its not too much of a burden if they want the sale :D)
there’s also an amusing link to some cyberkids rave site; plus its apparently good stuff to make flies for trout fishing. This is news to me (when i were a lad they didn’t do this – maybe all the drugs residue being pissed into the Thames is changing the way the trout act! :D)
