down south this happens (except its often motorists what are annoyed if its a bridge) so the cops often put a full road closure at each end, herd back all the crowd with barriers etc…

in the East there is less tension (maybe because most people commit suicide at remote places like level crossings or the Orwell Bridge which is very wide so traffic doesn’t get held up as much) so if they are spotted its left up to the cops, the negotiators and the person trying to jump (many are actually talked out of it and sectioned to St Clements, the local mental hospital).
