its a different kind of “pre meditation” though.. not as if they are looking for a known individual target, but how soldiers would always have their weapons to hand – seems like nearly everyone there had a knife because they knew it may kick off or expected it to do so..

its actually society regressing, as there was once a time when every young man had a sword or pistol (well into the 1900s in some areas) and the most “civilised” form of fighting was duels, (but of course there were also large scale brawls, particularly around inns or where university students gathered)
