    people can carry on being dumbed down if they want and not caring beyond the weekend – OTOH I bet a lot of these same people 5 years down the line may not only regret their earlier excesses but (perhaps with a kid and a job) they will be the ones calling 999 to a free party down the road because its “too noisy?”

    I appreciate all that you’re saying – i have a full time job & i also put on parties. I also understand that, whether you & I agree with it or not, doing free parties is illegal so the police and the general public will treat them as such.

    There are no two ways about it.

    I got over all the ‘fight for your right to party’ ‘down with the babylon’ bollocks years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’m as pissed off as the next bloke when OB come in all heavy handed but at the end of the day you can’t go to illegal events and then be all surprised when the police try to stop them.

    As far as getting older and moving on goes – that’s just the way of the world isn’t it? You partied, you loved it, then you grew up and settled down a bit. I don’t see how that this constitutes some sort of debt to the new generation who are just doing what you did back in the day?

    See I was complaining about this site being far too serious and I’ve already been dragged down (or is it up?) into a civilised conversation… I don’t like it!
