this is something they have been doing in city parks for years

what this means is the council are having to have more regulation to keep an eye on something they were already doing perfectly succesfully.

and the nimbys still are complaining about it and trying to stop it?

without these events people would get pissed up, take drugs, and fight/rob/rape one another in city parks anyway like they used to in my old city park (Reading Forbury Gardens) until they put in CCTV and regular cop/warden patrols.

the locals should be supporting these events; as they encourage a diverse population to make use of the space and would doubtless have stewards and wardens about who could at least try to discourage any potential trouble.
