incidentally that video is not totally in sync to the actual music he is playing – I noticed this when watching Armin to see how he played out the jingles 😉
The software 538 uses is also lots of €€€€€ – but you can get very similar software for free (look for Freeplayer here) – a Dutch chap wrote it as a hobby project so teenagers in the school he works at could use it!
Its slightly more complex to use than Sonicart as you get 4 players and it works in the “Dutch” rather than “British/American” way (more logical though initially harder to get used to especially if you are younger and have no idea what a cart player is) – but is really good on a double screen, you even get one of them studio clocks but the Dutch type (which again looks better)
But don’t worry if you don’t know Dutch, this time everything should install in English. There are a couple of minor bugs but they have workarounds and a new version should be out later in summer. I have also helped Richard get some UK Windows 7 screenshots and made some small corrections to the latest English version of the software manual which should also be released soon.
random fact : AVB is 1.90m tall, whilst Ferry Corsten is about the same height as me – 1.65m. Hence why the studio desks are all made to adjustable heights 😉
