the gender bending on here (and even occasional crossdressing). is a long running joke and goes back way before Poly. its also been further purpetuated by goth/emo/hipster culture merging with rave culture, slight changes in gender roles and a less judgemental attitude to the LGBT community amongst young people, which surely isn’t a bad thing at all, and it not intended for any offensive or sinister reason.
I work for a community radio station which advertises a local domestic violence charity and live in a town with a real problem with DV, bulliyng etc (times are better than 2006 but much needs to be done) so if there was any real hint of it on here it wouldn’t be ignored. I don’t disagree that there is a big problem with dysfunctional relationships in young people in the UK but we have a perfectly good set of public services to deal with it, I research their work every few days as I am concerned myself over its increasing prevalance today. Tank Girl has also been more than willing to discuss this subject.
And yes, it is possible for those very physically fit to perform oral sex on oneself, but for most people the pain would outweigh gain, bragging about it and penis size is just the online equivalent of the muscle marys you see on the EDM scene these days what end up doing roids and getting in fights etc and have basically turned East Anglian towns into a warzone and got lots of clubs closed down and they often aren’t exactly “nice” to their partners either..
But in this case this is a genuine joke. Both poly’s screen name and real name are androgynous (similar with DOTM’s and my real name), I’ve already been mistaken by a radio presenter for a girl because I only texted them my first name and I was certainly not cross dressing, I’m too old, fat and hairy for such these days 😥 Mind you Biotech unearthed a link for a goth/vamp dress in his size a few years ago and he is a big dude (but everyone likes eating in Suffolk so this is not surprising).
There is also a historical culture of cross dressing and gender ambiguity in coastal areas. This was partly because captains didn’t want sailors going down with VD from the local prostitutes, and further for those lucky enough to have actual female partners, the areas were so polluted that the stress of pregnancy and childbirth and effect on immune system often caused both mother and the unborn child to die in childbirth (have a look at local gravestones in churchyards when you want evidence).
I am also just old enough to remember times when even if we had the Internet, talking about drugs, sex and hedonism in this manner would have meant British Telecom and DTI/Ofcom pulled the plug on this site – its only recently censorship has been slightly relaxed in England. So people having a bit of harmless banter about their gender identity (when the truth is obvious and divulged anyway) in the high tech 21st century really isn’t a big deal.
