its a difficult thing to do – get the right med’s – these days there is much more choice – but some of em can ‘make’ you really fat, some can give you joint pain etc etc
all the meds they ever gave me cause me harm in one way or another and I tried about 15 different ones. One of the unlucky ones perhaps
and again – ECT – I seen some people have fantastic recovery from catatonic states and some bad memory loss – and a few friend of mine have had pretty bad experiences
ECT scares the hell out of me even though its better that it used to be from what I understand (more localised).
I think the thing with mental health is …..
its better than the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s but there is still a massive way to go –
and what with the brain it really is a trial and error kind of medicine still :hopeless:defenatly, we are still at the leechs and vodo stage practically.
talking therapy and yeh – mindfulness
there is a really good few sites apparently
Mindfulness – Your Present Moment
Be Mindful Online – An Online Mindfulness Course
I find it really difficult – but think I need more practice
took me a year of daily practise, 2 hours a week of instruction, an hour of one on one instruction and a lot of reading. Will be learning it for the rest of my life. Love it though. Hopefully getting put on a new course soon designed to stop people who have got over depression have it come back, cant wait.
