your site has loads of stuff to buy (its own shop in-fact) so it clearly is commercial…
and if the price is just to cover production costs etc then you should be able to understand why Dr B asks for a donation…
Just a heads up…the links that I posted to my tracks were actually to soundcloud.com where ppl can listen to them for FREE.
The links to my website were so ppl can download the mixes from there for FREE.
Nowhere in my posts did I advertise or post a link to the MP3 shop, Ticket Outlet, or any of the MP3 shops where my creativity is sold.
Out of all the other forums this is the only one that I’ve come across in the past 12 years that has instituted such a policy…yet you say it’s not about the money? If the donations are to cover the costs of your hosting, etc then why not require a donation from all of the board members?
And if the donation was just to prohibit posters from advertising all over the site, why not just assign member rules to those logins so they can only post in certain threads? Sorry but that excuse doesn’t hold water at all.
I’m over this, it’s clear that you can’t present a valid argument for why you are attempting to take artists on a short, unfulfilling ride that dead ends.
