That sounds like a speeded-up hip hop tune, with and MC chatting over it, it’s not a d&b tune:bounce_fl

My doctor has helped me get a load of recording equipment (in exchange for me leading a project to set up a music room for the psychiatric ward in my local hospital)

Does anyone have any suggestions for equipment?
We have a budget of around £5000 (this had to include the cost of soundproofing the room too)
                                    So far Ive suggested:
A set of vinyl decks with mixer
A set of CD decks with mixer
                                    An amplifier
                                    Studio monitors
                                    Studio headphones
                                    Then: 2 acoustic guitars
An electri guitar with amp (poss FX pedals too)
                                    A keyboard
                                    Possibly a drum kit
Lots of percussion instruments – bongos, tambourines etc
Ive also suggested some recording equipment:
                                    A digital four track
                                    What do u guys think?
Seperate from that shes buying me £300s worth of stuff in payment! Cool eh
                                    this is what ive ordered:

I would not bother with the record decks, if you have cd decks, that all you need, just think where are you going to get 12″ records, or any records for that matter….Unless they are all djs, gone mad on drugs???

Four tracks recording mixer is a waste of time and is pointless…You would be better off going digital!!!…with a decent computer, and get a recording studio quality program, such as “Magix Samplitude music studio 14” for £75…..you will have a complete 64 track professional studio on your computer, and is perfect for live recording…I have it, and it’s f###ing wicked!!!….it includes 8 synthesisers, reverb, all the plugins, just think forward, rather than going back to the 80’s…..I have a complete studio, for less than £1000….:bounce_fl

The documentary also featured a 70 odd year old man, whom stated that he has not eaten since his teens. Some scientists studied him, under a controlled environment for 10 days. In that time he did not take any food or liquid.

Truly mad (if true)….it is not true, only simple minded people can believe this nonsense!!!!

Has anyone had any experience in meditation?

YES! For many years, it can be beneficial to some extent, but it’s basically nothing more than a pastime, even a waste of life, but does have health benefits, depending on the person, it can help to lower blood pressure etc!…Extremely experienced (20 years+) buddist monks can get there heart rate down to 1 or 2 beats a minute, they can also meditate themselves to death by starvation, and have the ability to burn themselves to death…Well documented during the korean and Vietnamese wars!!!

The documentary was about a 15 year old called Ram Bahadur Bamjan, who has been meditating under a banyan tree in Central Nepal for about 8 months, before disappearing. All this time he never ate, drank or moved.

Some people believe him to be Buddha reincarnate.

Very interesting documentary, if you did not see the program, try and track it down.

It is amazing how TV has the ability to make people believe in the impossible…What a load of f###ing nonsense!…I have to question the mental state of people that actually believe this crap!!!!!!…And what kind of drugs they take!!!!

Obviously, lots of the goings on are ‘UNDERGROUND’, so it’s a good thing he can’t find out what’s happening. There are a few hippy type cafe’s in bath especially, so I suggest yer mate checks them out and talk to
people…Also, ‘Tribe of frog’ are from that area, and have monthly parties,

Also not much hinted at party info when it was the summer (or maybe i just missed it)

Just wondering if there is anyone on here from bristol/bath or surrounding area on here as ive got a mate in Bristol who says there doesnt seem to be much going on. Just wondering if its on lockdown down there or if he’s just looking in the wrong places. Im not asking for numbers just enquiring on the health of the scene.
