my mum cleans my room all the time, not enough for me not to find things again but enough for her to find things that she doesnt want to find and over react about them i.e. finding shukra biddies(indian cigarettes) and assuming they were pre-rolled spliffs….dunno bout the rest of u but personally id struggle rollin a spliff with a banana leaf

I think at those “danger years” (16-19 or so) your parents aren’t tidying your room “to help you out”, you are clearly old enough to look after your own space

I think it is often more the case they are acting on suspicion and carrying out a search to see if you have been taking drugs/smoking/collecting porn etc.. Were you (PP) perhaps acting a bit “out of character” or a bit snappy/irritable after the party? this sort of thing is noticed by your olds and makes them act..

yes it is shit and they are doing exactly what the feds do (OK except they don’t clean your room afterwards) and its not conducive to a happy family environment but thats the way society is gonna be for as long as drugs are illegal/not approved of.

Until either you move out / get your own place or your parents accept an amount of recreational use (maybe provided you stay in work and arent smashing the place up on tuesdays and having fist-fights with your dad), the only advice is to stash stuff better – this sense of “security awareness” may serve you well in later life too when you are more likely to have to worry about cops or scum trying to rob whatever you have..
