Interesting stuff indeed, although I suspect panspermia is an attempt to move the problem of biogenesis back so we dont have to worry about it for now. Much like invoking multiverses to tackle the anthropic principle.
I suspect that life can evolve without any problems on any planet quite quickly. Scientists seem to be learning that it would not have to be a massive chemical fluke, but that chemicals evolve much like life, increasing in complexity and spontaneously jumping into states of higher information when a threshold is reached with a chemical pathway.
