I’m still trying to work out a way to legally have a party for my 40th in 2012… hopefully one of the local crews will still have some rig left and people who haven’t given up nor wholly pickled their brains through excessive drugs…

ive a lingering feeling that i might turn a bit bumpkin in the years to come… my heritage is pretty ‘pure’ from three places… suffolk (farmers/milkmen/horseymen), and salford and tottenham (jewish)

why not start approaching land owners & apply for temporary entertainments license?
weekend just gone i went to something called desfest, it was des’s 80th birthday,and he loves techno! he has a field wich he uses every year to celebrate his birthday, nice rig loads of peaople and hes propberbly still going now! i left sunday night and it was still having it!
no cops all weekend, proppa safe party!
it can be done!

Thats exactly what I have been planning on doing. I actually have a fairly respectable career these days and am becoming increasingly involved in local environmental stuff so have no intention to cause any social or environmental damage… it would be hipocritcal of me to do so.
A lot of folk from the older bumpkin crews are “just resting” and have plenty of kit, as do the younger ones, not everyone here is so foolhardy as to get it all confiscated.
Even zero tolerance Suffolk will allow events where people have permission to use the land, get TENS if applicable.
PS: anyone found drinking poor quality lager or bringing same on site will be made to drink it within a recently vacated livestock pen downwind of the latrines and ablutions, until they learn the errors of their ways 😉

August 25, 2010 at 10:31 am #1228605Kronenbourg is reasonable as its what I tend to get if forced into any place what does not sell anything better, although i tend to go for bitter these days. I have not tried the Italian stuff.
Be careful though you are not paying over the odds for something brewed in a industrial vat in Britain rather than the country it claims to be from (this has happened to Grolsch recently 😥 ) there is too much lager brewed in England by large companies, which is pale watery imitations of foreign brands as it it not stored for long enough. The word Lager is German for a storage area..
Ironically some of what turns up in Lidl, Aldi and similar discount euro-stores round here is not bad, for obvious reasons.
when you are barely 20 miles from the coast and surrounded by good local breweries (two excellent ones in Ipswich alone!) life is too short to drink bad beer…

the two it guys i work with are bent on adnams, and some (i cant remember the name) yorkshire brew of beer
i myself am currently bent on a alcohol diet of rum, ouzo, smirnoff, aspalls, brothers.
if desperate… anything.
