2 people were killed and 8 injured from lightning strikes last week!
1 person was struck and killed by lightning in Florida, yesterday!

July is the peak month for lightning strikes and lightning related deaths. June is the 2nd lightning prone month.

According to the National Climatic Data Center, there were over 750 lightning incidents/reports across the United States in 2008.

So which state reported the most lightning incidents in 2008? (Lightning incidents include buildings and humans struck by lightning)

I’m intrigued as to what has brought our American friend here..

I can’t see his website is trying to sell us anything – and is actually quite interesting if you have any interest in meterology!

I keep a close watch on the weather – being both a cyclist and someone responsible for maintaining a lot of telecoms and IT kit in a rural area with overhead electric and telecoms lines (lightning and weather-related power surges can cause a lot of problems!)

This is a good place to monitor storms from in the East of England
