In their review of the Klaxons’ new album, Myths of the Near Future, the NME branded all ravers of the traditional rave scene “twats with baggy trousers”.
taken from a wiki article about ‘nu-rave’
check out the article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Rave
absolute fucking bollocks considering 1 extremely major point. ‘nu-rave’ was never a music genre, it was an extremely small fashion movement
January 16, 2008 at 8:40 pm #1152218for some irrational reason, some people have also decided to rename hardcore breaks as “nu-rave” fuck knows why as its just confusing :you_crazy

January 16, 2008 at 9:35 pm #1152220i think that orson song sums up a nu-rave party perfectly
Let’s go to a rave,
And behave like we’re trippin’Funny hats, shiny pants-
All we need for some romanceAnd tomorrow there’s no school,
So lets go drink some more Red Bull,
And not get home ’till about 11.00ok maybe not.
but still, i went to a house party and there was loads of posh kids running about with glowsticks goin on about the rave they were havin. it was cringeworthy.
they also all “casual smoked” and didnt even take the fuckin thing back. funny as.

January 17, 2008 at 11:53 am #1152219“John Harris has stated in The Guardian newspaper that the genre is nothing more than a “piss-poor supposed ‘youthquake'” that will soon go out of fashion in the same way as rave”.
yeah cause hardly anyone goes raving anymore, WTF?!
…piss poor supposed youthquake bit is quite a good description of nu-rave tho.
@GL yeah fuck knows why they’ve decided to call hardcore breaks nu-rave. You’d have thought they’d have wanted to get as far away from that decription as possible. TBH tho i think it would be pretty funny watching a group of emo/nu-raves going to a hardcore breaks night, then coming out crying ‘thats not the klaxons. Daddy can you come pick me up! my ears hurt and a bad man trod on my foot…:boohoo:’
