You mean the phono connections in the back?

If you do it is possible to do this [we have done it before now]and you will need the following:

-a good soldering iron with a fine tip [it needs to be pretty fine and a gas solder iron is what I would recommend]
-silver solder for choice [other solder will do the job]
-a good quality new phono lead to replace the old one – low resistance is good [heavier gauge of cable is used as standard in technics than you buy in the shops]
-a nice clean flat surface to work on and no outside distractions [a second pair of hands with no unsolicited opinions may be a benefit but not essential]
        – set aside at least an hour and make sure you know where all the little bits came from :groucho:

As a point of interst is it the cable or the connectors which are wrecked? If it is just the connectors I would recommend only replacing them if at all possible – far less work is involved and less dismantling of the beloved deck raaaso less can go wrong

If you want more info than is here let me know 😉

There are loads of things I dont know GD!!

Its merely that I have had to do this to my technics due to a muppet damaging the cable for me :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy and I am contemplating opening my technics for another reason so the how to is engraved in flashing neon on my mind as I consider whether I can be bothered…[broken bulb in the popup light that illuminates the needle….]

                  Much thanks,
it is deffinetly the cable, man. it’s like… i used to be able to sorta twist the cable up abit, and it would ‘conduct’ as it were. but now its just too ragged and needs replacing.
