Instead of the ‘west’ intent on destroying Afghanistan’s poppy fields and subsequently making the poverty striken farmers even more destitute. Why can’t they [the poppy fields] be put to good use to produce legitimate opium products such as morphine for use in medical treatments?
This way everybody excluding the drug barons will be happy.
