      I’ve just sent this letter the bbc’s breakfast tv. They’ve been annoying me with this for ages…

          the one which annoys me is the use of ‘decimated’

          decimation was a roman military punishment were every tenth man was killed for discipline purposes and not, as taken to mean today, reducing the original numbers to a tenth……GRRRRR
