Anyone from here go to the party in Bristol last weekend? Excellent stuff, well worth braving the fog and cold 🙂
3 decent rigs, zero beef, nice venue (running water still on / loos working and not too trashed!) and the cops just looked around a couple of times and did nothing else…
well done to all involved and everyone who was there…

result! a sweet party in bristol. i would have loved to have sampled it, altho i cant imagine the fog and cold being too great. so long as the pigs and the local crime syndicates left it alone, thats wicked.

as for cops,
I expect they would have liked to have put in the TSG (riot squad) to clear the warehouse as they previously have done!
however they were sensible enough to realise that turfing out multiple large vehicles into freezing fog with zero visibility in an area which includes many steep gradients, sharp turns etc would have resulted in a potential multiple vehicle RTC somewhere in the vicinity.
crews also deliberately stopped the rave earlier than normal so it was still light when people left, and people had time to drive home safely and get sleep for work/college the next day.
Even by middle englands terms it wouldn’t look that good sacrificing young lives to protect an abandoned commercial vehicle repair depot empty for some years (with little immediate resale value and high levels of environmental contamination), particularly when those present did show a remarkable amount of responsibility and restraint (damage was minimal, there was no infrastructure destruction, and it takes a lot of self-control to wind down a party earlier in the afternoon when everyone wants it to continue…)
If cops had stopped this event and a prang had occured, they would still have had to spend their Sunday out in the cold clearing up an incident far worse than a rave, and explaining their actions to the media and relatives.
in this case the effort involved in stopping this rave and dealing with the potential fall out didn’t add up so everyone was allowed to get away with it…..
