      the “nathan barley”

      cheers GL

to be perfectly honest – they been piled up in our hall gathering dust for months and months and its just because I wanna get rid and – some of our mates have given me the confidence to try it out that I’m doing it…

the funniest thing is on wed m
y mum was going on about this boy I was friend with (his mum and my mum were friends)

writing in the local paper every week – and instead of putting it straight into the recycling (as I usually do) I looked for his letter – and found one – and read the paper and found this craft fair being advertised and emailed them…….

      …..

but I’d never heard of Nathan B – til me mate fell head over heals for hin …….

and am on the case of getting Bio to be me agent 😉

but I asked my mate round for some moral support this arvo ( and a nice cuppa)
and he came up with all this wanky ‘artsy’ inspiration bollox (that I just really cant say – am known for being honest and not talking utter shit )

and named them all and as he liked that one I told him he can have it but he told me to try and sell it – but I’m thinking of leaving it out as he’d appreciate it more

(and he’s a loyal getting fucked up partner so thats what really counts……. PS I’m quite pissed by now )

I’m not surprised it reminds me of mountins at night. Really nice.
How bout the one on the top left? I need some new piccys for my bedroom as redecorating at the minute

hope all goes well. this is probably obvious advice but its worth advertising on ebay. if you put in a buy it now price along with a make offer for the maximum 10 days then you give yourself a good chance of a decent sale without being committed (considering how many folks view ebay). you can also advertise your shop. if you choose one of the regular one day at half price offers then you can post quite cheaply. i’ve been selling on and off for some time now.

i’ve put an attachment of a treasured lanscape oil painting by John Cleal which i bought several years ago in pembrokeshire while visiting his art gallery.. seems to be in a similar style to some of yours. hope i’ve done the attachment right..still battling with this upload lark!

            best wishes

              good luck!

I think the pictures are fabulous and those prices are VERY cheap from my limited knowledge of paintings.

                  well –
met some nice fellow stall holders and peep’s
but only sold 2 paintings, one to a work collegue and one to me mum :laugh_at: (heavily discounted:wink:)

However – I’ve come home in a good mood as I got lots of possitive comments and support

but the clientelle wasn’t gonna buy my work as the majority were elderly,
not the best of ‘venues’ (not very central / not in a big town),

but also people seemed to come to ‘have a look’
as other people didnt sell anything or only one / two things
and I’d say a lot of people went home on a ‘loss’ financially

I’d also guess that the current financial climate may have something to do with people tightening their purse strings and not excessivley spending

but when I can fit it in with work (I work weekends) I’m gonna try ‘Merton Abbey Mills’ market – as its got a good reputation – nearer london and I now have boxes full of framed picutres I need to shift 😉

but thanks guys for your moral support – it really did help

Try some pubs around you or restaurants, I have seen so many who have local artists work on the walls that is for sale. The establishment like it as they have some nice art on the wall at no cost to them and you have free advertisement 😉

Mr Tanks gonna design me a web site
and I’m thinking about Ebay –
only thing is I am really rather lazy and it does seem a lot of hassle – but who knows?

I’m back to work and doing the next few weekend but wanna try another venue whilst I still have the motivation
also some one on another site wants me to mail him some pictures that he can show to his friend who runs a holistic therapy centre in town who may put some up – which would be cool

                                …explains it all really.

Definitely worth setting an online shop up I reckon. Ebay is the easiest way to do it with the minimum of costs involved.

I reckon they would sell somewhere like Camden market or Brick lane. If you can’t get your own stall, have a chat with someone there and see if they can put a couple up for you. Good luck
