I’ve made a few tweaks this morning…
1. You can see the number of people using each style in the style chooser…
2. You have a list of updated profiles on the forum homepage…
3. You have a list of who’se viewed your profile…

July 22, 2006 at 6:43 pm #1083324Hi Raj,
just got reconnected to the internet after losing connection on Thursday afternoon. Has you or the Dr. any advice on why ‘when I lose connection’ to the internet it says on a troubleshoot ‘your DNS appears unable to resolve IP addresses’? I and my brother are running two desktops with a wireless router with two USB adapters (dongles).
Ant help would be appreciated and it’s great to be back on the forum.
Missed ya:groucho: :groucho::bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_fl

what is happening is your dns [domain name server] is unable to find the website. Basically, it’s unable to look up the phone book to convert the url (ie http://www.partyvibe.com) into the ip address (a set of 4 numbers in the form xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) needed to get to the site.
Does your wireless router have the addresses of your servers programmed in? You should find it on the setup page for the net connection in your router.
You can get your DNS addresses from your ISP – they should have them listed somewhere on their help pages.
That’s my best guess. Don’t know if the Dr has any other useful info…:idea::idea::idea:

Nice one Raj:wink: ,
thats certainly explained it really well for me. I’ve reset the router and manually reconfigured the settings. This seems to have done the job, so hopefully I can continue posting. Are you going to the party in ‘my neck of the woods’ tonight?:bounce_fl :bounce_fl :bounce_flJuly 22, 2006 at 7:48 pm #1083307In order to gather data about what isn’t working for you when you get disconnect which could be any number of things use the following commands:
ping
tracert
ping
pingIf it happens again, run those, keep the results and paste them here when you get re-connected…

Nice one Doc. Much appreciated. Hopefully I won’t have to do this, but if the unfortunate happens again, then I’ll do just that.:wink:
