Hi PV crew
Now I appreciate this is a potentially ‘dodgy’ grounds for those of you who like to keep your arses covered from the law, however I ain’t them.
And I’m getting myself braced for the usual round of comments saying ‘you twat, ‘course no-one in their right mind is gonna spill the beans’! – but I am hoping someone can give me info and – if possible – a good contact/s with regards to setting up a pirate radio station. – How to do it, costs, access to equipment etc.
This is a 100 per cent legit request and happy to give email address to anyone who can help me in my quest.
Safe.

there used to be a site called y2kpirates (.com maybe?), though i think it might be down or gone forever. there are some guides kicking around the internet- a good one is about pirate radio for activists (or actikids is what is said on the cover i think).
you can get kits on the internet, look at veronica, broadcast warehouse and check freeradio berkely (sp?) on google.
there was a fella on sj selling rigs as well recently.
good luck!
April 10, 2007 at 4:02 pm #1099909Consider internet radio as an option to broadcasting your show. More potential listeners and less risk. It also costs less and is easier to setup.
April 11, 2007 at 12:00 am #1099913watch that episode of malcolm in the middle where hal re-starts his college pirate radio station :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
i agree with SDZ on the internet radio front, but if you really want to start one, pm me and we’ll talk further 🙂

April 11, 2007 at 4:04 pm #1099908I think prime is the chap on SJ selling rigs. He is from Hull..
they look like fairly decent, well constructed kit. of course because of Mr Ofcom you are supposed only to buy them as bedroom ornaments, not plug them in :laugh_at::laugh_at:
