The Indie Music Association is a group resource of music related people dedicated to fostering musical growth. We promote the general education and welfare of music inventors and service providers from all genres.

Since 2009 the Independent Music Association offers consultations, resource information, education, field tested guidance, direction, How To’s and other hands on encouragements “Indies” need to compete in their marketplace.

Working within the goals & objectives of it’s associates, we help focus efforts that can be measured within a specific plan. The Indie Music Association and it’s friends cover a full spectrum inside the industry. Our goal is to offer Steps designed to take you from questions to answers and street to stage. These programs are broken down into Critique & Record, Publishing, Plugging & Legal, Records, Duplication & Distribution, Radio, Video & Broadcasting, Management, Promotions & Productions.

Our multiple three pronged approach helps keep colleagues from getting lost in the maze of choices. Members stay prepared by utilizing Action Plans within the IMA’s framework of graduated Steps and Levels

An Action Plan is a detailed course of direction based upon your individual responses from an in-depth Career Consultation. Action Plans are especially designed for each partners particular environment. Utilizing a realistic, grass roots approach that fits your means and areas of operation, a map begins to emerge. From your Career Critique we piece together an Plan that serves as a well defined path forward. Together, within the association, we help formulate a tailored Indie Solution with specific written recommendations. Action Plans outline a mutually agreed upon career choices.

The Indie Music Association Step Level approach to the Biz endeavors to: 1. Act as a ladder that carefully prioritizes task and objectives keeping everybody focused in particular areas and eyes on the ball. 2.Provide a means to measure and monitor progress with guide post from bottom to the top. Step / Levels Identify what is working and what is not. Utilizing milestones helps keep everybody on the team doing what they say in a timely manner. 3. Maintain product/project confidence. 4. Work toward long term solutions.

Members are encouraged to start fresh, seriously evaluate themselves, their product and their approach. Partners should periodically look inside themselves to analyze their motives and goals, be willing to solicit advice, accept and act upon it.
