Biography
Komposti Sound, also known as Finland’s Finest is by no doubt one of the most active and hard working sounds from Scandinavia. Established in 2001, the sound has won the Finnish Sound Clash Championship title three times, in 2004, 2005 and 2007 and defeated three big sounds Burndown Sound (JPN), Sovereign (UK) and Vertex (CAN/JAM) in Switzerland’s Baddadan Clash 2009. Currently the crew, hailing from Helsinki, Finland, is busy running their weekly club Reggae Sundays which is considered by many to be one of the baddest regular dancehall reggae clubs in Europe with regular big sound system and artist guests from all over the world, as well as running their weekly radio show Kompostiradio and their monthly show Tropical Heat on German webradio byte.fm. They have promoted shows for and / or played alongside a lot of big sounds and artists from Mighty Crown, Stone Love, Poison Dart, Herbalize It, Supersonic, LP, Soul Stereo, David Rodigan, Civalizee and Sentinel to Buju Banton, TOK, Busy Signal, Baby Cham, Mr Vegas, Luciano, Sizzla, Collie Buddz, Pressure, Bitty McLean, Konshens, Maximus Dan, Beres Hammond, Don Carlos, Chuck Fenda and many many more. Their tours have taken them to a lot of different places including Japan, Sweden, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Morocco, Russia and China.
What makes Komposti a crowd favorite in Finland and worldwide is Bommitommi, VG+ & Enrico’s versatile and uplifting juggling style that is not only limited to prime time on-the-point energetic dancehall fire but also blending in different styles of reggae music from way back when till now. Having played their weekly Sunday dance for more than 3 years in Helsinki as well as playing hundreds of dates all around they will simply not run out of good music at any session – not at the early hours, not at a hype juggling segment nor when juggling rub a dub music to rock to. Komposti is also well known for tens of quality mix CDs and live audios, most of which are easily available for free download on the net.
As well as playing sound, Bommitommi is also known as a producer, engineer and a remixer, having produced numerous reggae albums for Finnish artists as well as putting out some notorious remixes on the somewhat shady Knut Posse label.
