      Hello Partyvibe,

I have been dipping in to partyvibe for quite a while now but I don’t often post messages unless I feel strongly about the topic (although I have also started a thread of my own where I posted an old poem of mine) , so I reckon it is about time I told you all about me as I think (and I know everybody sais this but) Partyvibe is the friendliest forum on the web!

I have been raving for about half of my life (I am 30 now) and still love it like I was 15 again every time I stand in front of a rig!

I have recently put a smallish rig together (about 3K) with some friends and it is my greatest wish to have a small house in the coutry with a small barn for my decks and the new system.

In my spare time I am a teacher (actually just been made Head of ICT at my school) so that I can earn enough money to build a sound system and eventually realise my dream!

Because I am a teacher I find it particularly frustrating that by attending a rave I am classed as a criminal by society, but I am also an “upstanding member of the community” and a “responsible adult” to boot!!

I am in my 30’s (just) and because I am not a “lifestyle” raver any more I find it difficult to find out about big raves before I see them on the news. This is not a request for contacts because I know what the response is going to be, it just winds me up that the one saving grace of the rave scene (the enclosed community) is the very reason why I can’t get back into it!!

At least I have my own system to play with :weee:

I am very passionate about dance music and love it all as long as it has that underground sound, but I have always come back to hard and dark techno. Is it just me or are there other 30 something’s out there who love to party hard but have a day job? I would love to do parties for people my own age but it seems like the only people who like caining it and wobbling about to nasty techno are teenage boys on crack (most of my friends are parents or like their music “a bit happier” these days). I am sure this can’t be true can it?

Keep doing what you do partyvibe. You seem like a nice bunch of people to me 😉

          welcome to partyvibe Totallycai!

I’m in the same sort of situation as you TBH; until very recently (start of this year) I was a “lifestyle” raver attending raves fairly regularly….

Although I’m not a teacher I recently got a much more “responsible” job and have had to calm down (also I had to move out of my old area and leave a lot of people behind)

There are still some good events and at least here when people get to know one another they share info; but there hasn’t actually been that many big raves this year; about 3 or 4; as the larger ones create a big backlash from wider society due to damage and contamination.

They also have been very costly this year in terms of arrests and confiscation; society has fought back against 16 years of illegal raving…

Its true a lot of the 30 somethings (and even the mid 20s crew) are now parents or have calmed down – and there are a lot of angry young men on the scene (hence the greater risk of fights and trouble with the Police) – but there are also some sorted new crews and people coming through…

              LO dude

i know quite a lot of people who are still partying after 15 years and have a pwoper job (self included).. but most of them prefer smaller parties where a good vibe and a reasonable level of organisation is garanteed

it really pisses me off the way that some of the media portray raves, although it’s not totally surprising, considering the way some crews and party goers go

have to say almost everytime i’ve ever spoken to cops at parties they’ve been fine when they realise that ‘we’ are co-operative, organised and keeping people safe

hello, and welcome to PV, :bounce_m: :bounce_m: :bounce_m:
I was 30 this year and still enjoy partying, however I also find it difficult to find out when and where etc compaired to my youth in the early 90’s as I’ve ‘lost’ alot of my ‘old mates’ over the years for one reason or another,
also as I work weekends / shifts and have become ‘responsible’ over the years, (and particularily as its not my partners thing) so your not alone.
I think the hardest thing I have found is I dont seem to be able to be as spontaneous as I used to be, and cant travel as far, and do have to take into consideration the concequences of my job etc as to other ‘things’ and the law.
Which when younger I didnt give a f*ck about.

However saying that PV has helped rejuvinate my spark raaa
