although this is at least a couple of years ‘old’ now, i was just listening to it again and reckoned it was worth a place on partyvibe

there’s often a lot of talk on PV about how far some young people, especially young men have gone down a dark path, particularly in London

this project gave a musical voice to young people, many from uninspiring south london estates, with backing and practical support from established urban music artists

not every track does it for me, but there are some gems in here

and what is striking, for me, is the positivity and humour (I know what I need, but it’s not what you’re thinking) in the face of adversity in the lyrics
