ProfilesCryonix - who are we?CRYONIX began in April 1998 (see history) when friends Jurassik and DJ Haze decided to put on a night in Reading to showcase the burgeoning nu skool and electro breaks phenomenon they were both into. Now with third resident Tizz the collective runs nights as part of the Emission coalition and on its own, always on that nu skool breakbeat tip. For the uninitiated that means kicking breakbeats at between 130 and 140 bpm (about the same speed as standard house music) with d 'n' b style sub-basslines, high production qualities and an experimental dancefloor vibe. Favoured artists and labels include Freq Nasty & Blim, Tsunami One, Kevin Beber, Freakazoids, Rennie Pilgrem and Thursday Club, Kasha, Botchit & Scarper, Fuel, Mechanoise, Marine Parade, TCR and Whole9Yards. Junkchun Ten profileJunkchun Ten (J10) are a collective of people from the south of England.
The system is a Drum'n'Bass sound system. We hope to eventually have a
techno system running as well, at the moment you may hear the odd bit
of techno in the mornings. Why do we do it? We all enjoy partying, we
fancied contributing to the scene and got together back in 98. We've had
a lot of support which we thank you for and hope people we continue to
support us. The parties have gone from strength to strength we've managed
to achieve a lot so far. Who knows what sort of parties we'll be doing
this time next year. We have built our system up from almost nothing to
around a 2.3K rig. This is thanx to the support of our partyers. If anyone
has any equipment they'd like to donate please see bottom of this page.
With our main music styles being jungle and drum 'n' bass, our system
manages 1.5K in bins. The rest mids and tops. We have quite a good light
rig and decor. We now have two lasers and an equaliser to clean up the
midrange. This section will be updated as the rig grows. If your interested
in hire of our equipment please contact us for a full list. If it's for
the cause we guarantee you'll not be able to beat our prices (we always
send a trained engineer!)
