Just little update with how ive been getting on for anyone who cares, cheers for the help when i started out aswell.
I tryed out ableton and reason, however i didnt like reason as you couldnt use vst’s. So since then ive been working soley in ableton 8 and have been making dnb for about 9 months now. I have a shitty soundcard in my laptop and about £30 surround sound speakers as monitors :yakk: means i have to refenrce a shit load on other systems. I havent made anything too special yet ill try and get some clips up tommorow of some work, been trying to make something abit orginal and organic tho and not sound like everyman and his dog. I just wish i had the money to get decent mointors, sound proof my room and get a hardware synth/emu sampler!
PS: Making music is so much fun.
Thinking about going down the ableton live route too be fair. I can beat match alright and use turntables however i just feel abit limited on them. Ive been thinking about creating alot of audio which could really give some edge to my sets and make them very unquie (none of this mashed up to fuck stuff on a midi control tho i dont really rate that, and personaly i think i could teach my mother to do that). Wheater i ever get round to do this will be another thing tho 😛

I tested my hearing the other day, and i can just about hear a 19khz sine wave at 20db. It was streching my hearing big time tho.
Thats a fucking brutal beating someone has taken :/. And i nearly went to bristol but ended up not doing the 6 hour trip from mine, sounded like a phatty tho!

Cheers for that guide, havent had much time to produce this week. But ive been working on trying to produce some badaboy bassline, which hasnt been going too well. I guess pratisice makes perfect tho 🙂
Cheers for the replys guys, ive had two days off work so ive been messing about on reason afair bit. Im slowly getting my head round it all and what biotec said is so true. Last night i spent 2 hours fucking about with a bassline only to wake up today listen too it and instantly srcap it all hahaha!
Hopefully sometime next week ill have a rough outline of a tune im happy too show you guys 🙂
I no its vauge as fuck, its kinda of hard to put into words where you are with something without showing you. I was more asking the question of useful software and hardware to use more than advice and tips.
And i was looking at getting a mac and using logic in acouple of months once i have abit more money if im enjoying producing.

Hahaha if heard hundreds of bin larden jokes this week, i must say that was one of the better ones tho. And its a real shame theres basicly no venues in norfolk anymore, and as i dont like hardtrance i tend not too go too that many raves :/
The only thing you can really use these days is the arena at yarmouth or mustard in norwich round where i live. Not many systems are big enough or have the money to rent and fill the arena, and ive been told mustard is booked up for the next few months :/.

This is the kind of job i would love to do. I lack qualifications and shit tho badly, everything i no is self taught and i doubt its in the depth needed for something like this. Maybe one day ill be doing what i want tho.

I think its were you spent most of your free time, If you spent all your free time smoking weed at mates houses put it down. Ill double check tho.
