Evil Nine – Restless 😉
Evil Nine – Restless 😉
Looking at the descriptions of them all I’d quite like to stove all of their heads in with a big spade (save possibly the “raver” and the other fairly safe lookin bird i cant remember).
Try “the scratch” by Nitin Sawhney. Starts off chilled with sitar and indian female vocals, then goes into a kinda indian drum n bass beat after about a minute. I’ll send it u if u want to PM me an email address.
Decks are infinitely cooler than a laptop, knowing that the atmosphere of the whole place rests on that tiny point where the needle touches the record… And with decks you need records, with colourful sleeves and cool artwork. I find it so much more satisfying to buy a record and then keep it with all my other records than just copying a load of tunes off a mates external drive. Still, I’d hardly walk out of a party if I saw a laptop, just be a bit disappointed. Live production, i.e. ableton etc. otoh can be awesome, but i see that more as performance than DJing.
yeh i always thought a bludclaat was a tampon (as in “blood cloth”). Likewise, a bumbaclaat is an arsewipe.
I reckon the next “big thing” is gonna be electro, and bands with electro elements to them, kinda ties in with all tht nu rave stuff i spose. can’t say i’m a huge fan although i do like some of the electro-house stuff thts coming out at the moment.
don’t be daft.
U can do it in iTunes too if u go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Importing, and where it says “import using” select mp3. Then u can just right click on a track and an option comes up “convert to mp3.” It will create an mp3 duplicate of the file and add it to itunes.
Aunt Bessie’s stuffing balls
come on, hows htog a real word?
rjd2 – “heres whats left”, anything by boards of canada, trentemoller. pretty much all heavy drum n bass is good for a “hair of the dog” comedown treatment too
For anyone not yet familiar with the latest big thing, here’s the definitive nu rave alphabet presented by T-Mobile, they know a thing or two about rave… X is for Xstacy don’t ya know…
wow, imagine that at a festival!
Another festival well worth a look is Beatherder. Think it used to be a party, but last year they went legit and put on a proper festival. Beautiful site on a farm/woods in Lancashire, loads of different music on the main stage (last year Dreadzone, Eat Static… various rock/ska/hip-hop etc. bands), big rig set up in the woods playin techno, breaks, dnb… few more systems around the place in tents. Really intimate festival, loads of random shit to explore – the underground tunnel tht came out under the gramophone in some old persons living room was probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever discovered. I dont hav anything to do with organising it, just thought I’d giv it a mention cos it was the highlight of last year for me.
At the risk of sounding GAY, I nominate myself. raaa
Make him a hat of ashtrays.
