Technics only have 8 pitch range which i didn’t used to think was a problem but now i relise it aint enough! Vestax have 10 which is better but sometimes wish i could push them a bit further. I know what you mean about the numarks it does get boring constantly fixing the pitch but tut the 20 pitch range is useful!
Why cant technics or vestax make a modle which is as reliable as therir others but with a larger range>?

        I’m a Technics fan thru n thru . . . . . .
BUT . . . I have only ever played on Vestax once, but one thing i soooooo wish Technics had was better pitch range. For one reason only – i have a fair few oldskool house n hardcore choons, which i never seem to take out, simply because they are just too slow, a few are ONLY JUST too slow, how annoying is that grrrr!! So they sit at home .. . tragic, really.
+10 – or more, would bring all of my old vinyl into play – they not ready to retire yet – bit like me!

*sighs:cry: (,because can’t have Technics OR Vestax at mo)

I am having a very skint Christmas myself. Am on strict (ish) budget to clear my debts. So – Have been officially excused from buying any presents, most of family supportive on that one – my son’s idea.

However, even though they don’t mind, I thought i would show them i care by making their cards. 💡 – Which sounds lovely, except i am not blessed with creativity in the card-making dept lol. Music – no probs, my juices flow. Especially when oiled :crazy_dru

ANYWAYYY . . .My handy hints for fellow paupers this year –

                  – Print photos/pictures from computer – hand-pick for each individual, something that relates to them personally, either a funny pic, or maybe a family photo, or even an ‘inspirational’ jpg, with text on it. I googled ‘free Christmas backgrounds and graphics’ and got some cool stuff for my cards. Also worth trying Scrapbooking sites, they have loadsa stuff too.

                  – Stick photo over the picture on left over cards from last year, or use card that came out of product packaging, ie – shirts

                  – Then, grab some of the old decorations u don’t need – or scrounge some.
                  – And stick stuff on/in card. I just had a glue-stick so put some round the edge of the photo and sprinkled some finely chopped tinsel all along. Added some red ribbon.

Coulda done with some glitter really but I literally had NO money for this project. All i got is this laptop, and my HP Photosmart printer (only does photos though) – Got it for xmas last year, still a mere novice though.

I took photos of some of my efforts, i’ll see if i can get them up here soon, they r a poor show really, but i haven’t done anything like that since i was about 10 hehe! And as my mum always said – It’s the thought that counts!

Hope some of this helps someone a bit. Post up piccies when your done, and – btw, if anyone out there is actually crappier than me, feel free to use one of my masterpieces lol. Hopefully better artists will put theirs up though 😉

You are right about the rose-tinted specs (plurry specs!) – I still wear mine of course.
We suffered hours, nay, DAYS, of no music, all those years ago, so that future generations could party in the future! We trudged miles trying to find parties, and went without water for days, as there weren’t the health and safety rules back then.

I would do it all over again, still do as often as i can, but my kids don’t let me out as much now that they are taller than me lol grrrr . . . .

                              A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY PARTYVIBE!

I’m so sorry that i missed your celebrations – family visits overtook anything i actually wanted to do lol.

I did actually get logged in at one point – only for my laptop to choose that moment to crash Grrrrrrrr!!

Anyway, i hope you all had/are still having a lovely weekend, am thinkin of you!

I have attached (i hope, bit out of my depth with this kinda stuff lol) – a video i recently discovered, which i sat glued to – at the end i realised i was grinning from ear to ear like an idiot 🙂 i just sums up the whole thing in one go – for me anyway, the vibe, the love, the oh-so-obvious lack of bad attitudes. They sure don’t make ’em like that anymore. God i feel old hehe! Anyway . . . ENJOY!

                              Love and much Plurrification,

This is totally sickening. My thoughts go out to all involved. Can’t imagine somthing on that level happening whilst partying. It goes against everything. Just horrible 😥

 why Thankyou General! *trying to be modest but secretly chuffed!! Haven’t had anyone say that for a while – since i started my current job 3 1/2 yrs ago. Ironic heh? It isn’t the lifestyle, it’s the job taking it’s toll!

Think you are right about the youthful outlook on life. I often joke that i have been ’embalmed in vodka, and preserved by chemicals’ lol!

It’s so easy to let this crazy world grind you down. But i have realised that letting off steam at parties gives me the strength, physically and mentally, to get through the rest of it! Whenever i feel i may be at the end of my raving career, I find myself having a ‘moment’ on a dancefloor, of total clarity. . . . WHY i started, WHY i am still doing it, and . . . . . WHY i can’t stop!! It happened last weekend at Epidemik, and last March at Eclipse Reunion. Both times, i hadn’t been out for a while, and was ‘lost’ mentally, confused, by life, by me, everything!
I am still reaping the inner rewards of last week :group_hug

Wicked nite – off me trolley, stomped me little heart out, lost the plot on the dance floor, waffled cod-shit to strangers, and went to never-never-land with my chosen family!
Met some luverly peeps, music was rite up my alley, and blew those cobwebs straight outa the way. Well overdue it was.:bounce_fl :group_hug :crazy_diz 😉 :weee:

Plenty of us old veterans there was . . . in particular, Colin, bout 102 i think lol – he was always at the Corn Exchange when i went there every Friday nite in my Punk era, bout 1977-80. Never really knew him, but we knew each others faces. First time I saw him since then, was last March, at the Eclipse reunion, also at the Junction. He was up onstage at the front, Absolutely AVVVVIN – IT!! He’s unstoppable, what a geezer! Big respect!

Good thing i went out that nite though. . . . . . . . stood me in good stead for the mayhem which unfolded the very next day.

To cut a v.long story short, I have houseguests for a while. They are wicked – all 4 of them – 2 of them are very small people. It is 21 years since i held or bathed a baby, and it’s freaked me rite out. My nice neat little world has been turned upside down – heehee – but its all good, been a bit stagnant lately, in a rut. Do me good it will!!:groucho:  :groucho:  :groucho:

But children?!?! . . . It is official, I am OLD. I now ‘couldn’t eat a whole one’ LOL! Bless em tho, I luv em to bits, cute n cuddly they are! Just have to put everything I own UP – 3 foot up! outa harms way! :groucho:  :groucho:  :groucho:

                                                    . . .

Somehow I don’t think I’ll ever look at a pile of sterile cdr’s with felt pen labels the same way as I do my vinyl.

I FEEEEEl what you’re saying! I am a hopeless romantic when it comes to my vinyl. Nothing quite like the authentic sound of needle touching down on vinyl, hearing that crackle lol. Luvvit! Also, the ‘hands-on’ approach does it for me, directly attending to the mix myself means alot to me.

And when it all comes together . . . . NOT A DRUG IN THE WORLD CAN TOUCH THAT BUZZ!
