from todays TVP crime news ………

Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured at the Reading Festival at around 4am on Monday (29/08).

The eighteen-year-old man, who will not be named, was walking through the festival site when offender(s) threw a gas canister into a nearby fire. He received serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he has undergone surgery. He will be discharged later today.

DS Phil Jones, of Reading police station, said: “This incident has left the young victim with nasty injuries which have required surgery and could have proved fatal. I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police to come forward with any information they may have.”

there are a lot of scum from the wider area who deliberately try to get on site to cause grief and trouble, there has been worse stuff like rapes and serious beatings.

but the cops and organisers claim that by making you pay for policing costs that “less of this happens”….

how come this level of violence is so rare at underground events in the same area?

I can understand the arguments with larger events that there has to be better security – a larger event will attract more people who want nothing more than to cause a problem for others. But they do not follow it up. There was sod all security in the campsite at Leeds this year, they just left us to get on with it. Unfortunately thats what you get when you build a social event on capitalism – security costs money so you will obviously get as little as possible.
