I got a hercules aswell for it :
But i dont recomend the Hercules, its a toy and you can get a better midi-controler / sound card for your money.

It shows you what its all about. Suprisingly easy to get started 🙂 Good fun too. Ive been mixing up some well random styles in there. From psychadelic fraggle rock to scatman gabba. Love it!
June 2, 2006 at 11:25 am #1077763I just upgrade to the latest one, loads tighter. It’s cool, you really don’t need heaphones to monitor either. 😉

I need to start using the new version. The problem i had with v3 over v2.6 (my current choice) : I use my Hercules built in sound card for headphone monitoring and my Mac’s ‘Core Audio’ sound card for my main output. It appears v3 (unlike v2.6) doesnt let you use outputs on different sound cards. Bearing in mind the Hercules sound card is proper crap (hence why i dont recommend anyone buys one) it makes the move to v3 not possible for me until i get a decent multi-channel external sound card.
Ho Hum it is fun though :alien_abd i love the possibility to loop up sections of tunes. I like remixing old prodigy tunes with more recent harder stuff makes some wicked on the fly music. This function alone is a good enough reason to use MP3 mixing software these days as apposed to vinyl. That and the cost.
June 2, 2006 at 1:26 pm #1077774Ive got it but havn’t got round to using it much.
Need one of those hercules things, that looks like fun 🙂

It is good fun 🙂
But one of these would be even better :
June 2, 2006 at 1:32 pm #1077764Or if you have the soldering iron skills and a little basic knowledge of electronics you could build your very own custom controller – http://www.ucapps.de/
Still haven’t finished my sequencer i’m building off there yet.

Great site, some fantastic kit being built. I couldnt find a specific design for a ‘dj console’ which might have tempted me to get the soldering iron out. Would like to see some pics of your project when available 🙂

Would like to see some pics of your project when available 🙂The thing is, there is no difference between those hercules things and any other midi controller, they’re just set up in a different configuration, so it’s a piece of piss to configure your own set up using the midibox NG. The forum on there is so helpful too, tell them what you want to do and they’ll help you.

Nice!!! might invest in something like that, instead of a CDJs.
P.S Long live Vinyl and Technics 😉

Midi seems simple enough but i would rather fork out some $$$ cause im lazy 🙂
