I reckon the next “big thing” is gonna be electro, and bands with electro elements to them, kinda ties in with all tht nu rave stuff i spose. can’t say i’m a huge fan although i do like some of the electro-house stuff thts coming out at the moment.

i’ve got inti illmani tapes that i picked up in Chile a few years back. excellent stuff

atilla the stockbroker is worth checking out for a bit of rousing street poetry

also check out The Toretz.. if you liked IAn Drury you will love them

Have you got any Toretz mp3s to send here as an attachment? Wasn’t Ian Drury the bloke that did “Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick”?!

I suppose electro is what everyone’s doing now. But l was wondering if there was going to be anything radically new coming along… Feel free to send some mp3s as an attachment if you can (not sure how you do it), as l haven’t heard any Nu-Rave. Apart from those guys making Old Skool again (see the Hardcore Breaks section of the http://www.hardcorewillneverdie.com website).

Looking at recent news headlines, l sense a new hybrid mashup style of music starting in the West End:

That might’ve been me you’re referring to <<<DUCKS (l didn't imply it, maybe you inferred it).

There’s this Nu-Skool hardcore album out with stuff by mostly old rave artists doing it again. It’s called “We’re Not Dead”. I thought that was a bit of a sad name actually cos it sounds like famous last words lolol.

I still make rave in the old style but l’m not much good at it… would happily send mp3s on request but am not expecting any requests.

Well said. That’s what l like to hear. If it aint broke then don’t fix it – ride it HARD!

I have to admit l’m dismayed at some ppl’s definition of “Hardcore”, some of it’s just the thump smash thump smash of a Nazi war machine.

Keep it funky and groovy and animated!

And the K takers can do 1 too! IT’S A VETERINARY DRUG FOR SICK DONKEYS NOT HUMANS YA DIVS. There must be animals out there writhing in total agony whilst some psychonaut student is doing a robot walk on what was meant to be for medical use.

Ooops sorry that sounds really uptight! I was refering to Happy Hardcore by the way but hey that’s just personal taste.

And l’ve just realised there’s already been a thread on K use. I’ve only ever tried it once and l can’t go by just that one experience.

TBH for someone who doesn’t use it regularly it usually only takes a small-ish line to spark them out, its only about £2-3 worth.

K-heads snort “bare ketiums” as they develop tolerance really quickly :hopeless:

Yeah l snorted a big line of it and at one point they thought l was dead, lying on the grass outside the halls of residence, staring up at the sky on a freezing cold March night in the howling wind, so they were probably just relieved l was still alive.

I met this character and l was following him through these tunnels and caverns made of crystal even though l was scared stiff of him. The place felt more solid than this dimension.

Here’s some curios that l discovered about 2 years after the event though:

From Dr. Doreal’s [blatantly fake] New-Age version of the Emerald Tablets of Thoth:

Deep in the Earth’s heart lie the Halls of Amenti…

…Then for a dwelling place, far ‘neath the earth crust, blasted great spaces they by their power…the Halls of the Dead…

…Then from his throne came one of the Masters, taking my hand and leading me onward, through all the Halls of the deep hidden land…

And also, the lyrics to “Spirit In Black” by Slayer (heard years before the event):

                                      …Buried beneath you will find
Deep in the halls of the damned
Spirit in black till the journey’s [doesn’t sing that] end

And then there’s the Grange Hill kids:
                                      Just say NO!
                                      NO!
                                      Just sayyy nooo
                                      Just sayyy nooooooo
