        cassettes were always a big technical compromise anyway (although to be fair, Chrome tapes on properly adjusted equipment did and still do sound good).

        OTOH If you want to record analogue, do it properly :groucho:

        These still sell for at leat £400 second hand and they have been out of production for 8-9 years!

              Funnily enough I just bought myself a tape deck so I can put my old tapes onto CD.

              The times they are a-changin’.

              On the other hand – Vinyl (the original sound recording medium) will never be replaced – even with the dawning of the CD mixer. Vinyl just lasts forever (unles it melts in the sun of course) and if it’s well looked after the sound quality cannot be beaten… even ancient records still sound good where tapes and CD’s deteriorate over time.

                still have hundreds of tapes, two k-7 players and happiest of all a tape player in my car raaa
